Originally thought to be a live-action remake, plans for “Scooby-Doo” have changed and Warner has announced that the detective dog and his friends will return to theaters, yes, but in animated feature length.
A Warner Bros. will bring Scooby-Doo and his gang back to theaters in the form of animated film. The studio has already marked its debut date: September 21, 2018.
Untitled, the feature will be directed by Tony Cervone (Space Jam), who has worked on the series “Scooby-Doo! Mystery S / A”. The script was written by Matt Lieberman (Dr. Dolittle 4).
Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, producers of the two feature-length films, Scooby-Doo (2002) and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters on the Loose (2004), will also take care of the animation alongside Allison Abbate (Frankenweenie). Executive production will be by Dan Povenmire (Phineas and Ferb, Family Guy).
